Keeping a copy outside the app
Backup zips a project's files and its whole history into one file you keep somewhere else, like an external drive or your own cloud storage.
It's the one safety net Krita VCS can't provide on its own. If a project folder is ever lost outside the app, a backup you made yourself is the way back.
